Sketchbook: Designers and Design Styles
In order to design a successful product, designers will often look at the work of other designers, design movements and design companies in order to work out what makes them successful.  No designer works in a vacuum and it is very difficult to design that is brand new. Most ideas are based upon past or similar products or inspired by nature, artists, design companies, design movements or other designers.

TASK ONE

These are products designed by ‘Dieter Rams’ when he was a designer for the company ‘Braun’. A very famous designer lately has used his past products as inspiration for his own very successful designs. Can you tell which designer they inspired and continue to do so today? You may well have owned one of his products?
Looking to the past for design inspiration.
